DVDA Menu - Dynamic description for menu buttons

I have a DVD Menu which has 14 image buttons. I wanted to display a one word description (label) in the bottom of the menu when the user move thru each button. I don't have space in the page to make a text and picture. The label display in the middle bottom of the page and will change as the user move the cursor from one image button to the other one. Is it possible in DVD Architect or Adobe. Thank you in advance for your feedback.

I think what you're describing would be possible on a web page -- but not a DVD menu. At least not with DVD Architect.

Only way to do this would be with switched menus. You create several menus that look exactly the same except for that label at the bottom. I don't mess with switched menus, so you're better off searching the forum or waiting for someone else to give you detailed instructions on creating them. ;-)

What I dislike about them is 1) they add extra weight to the disc size for not much benefit in my opinion, and 2) that the DVD player has to change menus every single time the viewer moves the cursor, and that can take a few seconds on some players. It doesn't sound like much, but it's frustrating for a viewer when they're trying to navigate from, say, Item #2 to Item #6.

Honestly, my advice would be, if you don't have room for text and pictures, decide which is more important and make a choice. Or, if possible, use smaller pictures. Or spread these items out over more menu pages so you have the room you need.

This actually can be done without too much effort. DVDA gives you the option of using a different graphic image when highlighting a selection. What you need are two version of the button/graphic: a non-highlighted version without a label and a highlighted version with a label. Note that the label in this case is part of the graphic image itself and NOT the text label in DVDA.
