DVDA Pro 6 won't Start

I registered fine with the new key provided by email, but the application itself won't start. It just keeps going to a problem report page every time I click the icon with:

Problem: Unmanaged Exception (0xc0000005)
Fault Module: C:\Program Files (x86)\Sony\DVD Architect Pro 6.0\dvdarch60.exe
Fault Address: 0x6772A9E9
Fault Offset: 0x6772A9E9

Anyone else getting this?

Having the EXACT same problem. Have replaced the video card, rooted the machine and reinstalled everything, granted permissions, and tried running it in compatibility mode on Win 7, but I am getting the same error message/results.

Anyone have any ideas?

May sound a bit harsh...but go back to 5.2. 6.0 is a dog.

Yes, I'm having the same problem. It would be nice if a Sony rep can give us the secret to start the program.

It runs great on both my Windows 7 and Windows 8 machine.

But, if you've installed DVD Architect 5 first and then followed the prompt to install version 6, version 5 still there too. DVD Arch 6 didn't overwrite it. So you can just use that instead. No need to remove or reinstall anything.

I am in the same situation - but I need ver 6 for 3D.
Sony support keeps asking for logs and keep saying the same thing everytime - I doubt that anyone is reading the messages....
Time to report to Better Business Bureau

I have the same problem, which seemed to be caused by a problem during install (InstallShield error 1723, a dll cannot be found, etc.).

Like the previous poster, I installed 6.0 to create 3D blu-rays. I don't believe 5.2 can do that.

But, since Sony is not interested in our problems, I guess we are out of luck.

I was having the exact same issue where I did a little search on Google and found that uninstalling Quicktime solved the issue.

Here is the link to where I found the solution: http://forums.creativecow.net/thread/24/909150

Hope this helps
