When I take an unedited clip from my AVCHD camera, set the project settings in DVDA5b to match the source, and then make a BD (to fit on 4.7 GB DVD) of this clip, the video is not recompressed but the audio is. The audio in both source and project are 48 kHz sampling, 448 kbps bit rate, AC-3 5.1 channels.
The main m2ts file produced by DVDA is a bit under 1% smaller than the original.
If I make an AVCHD disc using Sony PMB, the corresponding m2ts file is identical in size to the original, and as far as I know nothing is recompressed.
Are there any other settings I should play with to avoid recompressing?
Note that I don't have a separate .ac3 audio file. It should not be necessary if the audio is already compliant as per the manual, (although DVDA tells me that it is not).
