DVDA reloads project everytime I .....

Aje wrote on 3/3/2003, 4:27 PM
DVDA reloads an already loaded project everytime I close "another" window.
For instance If I want to check a soundfile or jpg picturefile in the load media window or even if I use help - DVDA does a reload of my present project when closing the window.
Should it be that way - its rather irritating especially if the project contains a lot of small files (have to wait 5 to 10 sec everytime)

I am not 100% sure what you mean, BUT under OPTIONS/PREFERENCES uncheck "Automatically load last project at startup"

Hop this helps!

By default, it closes file when it does not have the focus. Then, when it gets the focus, it has to reopen them. This is an option that can be turned off in the preferences. I'll try to remember to cover that in the 4th Tip, Tricks, and Scripts.

The reason this happens is so you can modify the files in an external editor. Else we keep a lock on them and you wouldn't be able to modify them.

And yes, that preference should do it.

Not sure if it a known issue but the reload project option does not work for me I still have to load my last project.

Sorry, let me clarify. I think we're talking about two separate preferences:

1) Media Goes Offline on loss of focus - this is what I was talking about in my last post. This is used so you can modify files in external editors, etc. If you disable this in the preferences, then you won't be able to modify files when DVDA loses focus. However, then DVDA won't have to "reopen" the media files when DVDA gets focus. This is what Aje was referring to, I think.

2) Automatically open last project on startup - this is used to automatically reload the last project you were working on when you restart DVDA.

WhiteBalance - so you're saying that with #2 ON, this still doesn't work for you?

Thanks

Sorry not very clear on the last post - yes it is number 2 with the open last project setting enabled in prefs it still opens DVDA with a blank project.

Not a big deal I thought it was probably already a known issue.
