DVDA Studio Sees 23.976

Hey there.

I have a video clip taken from a DVD for re-authoring that is 720x480, 16x9 flagged, 29.97 fps. Basically your standard NTSC anamorphic widescreen MPEG.

Every app i point at this file except DVDA and Vegas Studio correctly reads the file as 29.97 fps (TMPGEnc Mpeg Tools, Mpeg Validator, VideoRedo, DVD Lab) but DVDA Studio insists that it is 23.976 fps and therefore needs to be reencoded. When I let it reencode, the audio ends up a couple seconds out of sync (at in the portions I watched)

DVD Lab shows some extra info that says that it is 3:2 pulldown. Does this mean that the video is *really* 23.976 (or 24) and the 3:2 pulldown flag tells the player to play at 29.976? If so, why is DVDA Studio so insistent on not leaving the file alone?

Any ideas?

Thanks.
