To the best of my understanding you have to get both of them - as in Vegas+DVD.
upgrade from Vegas+DVD to Vegas+DVD

There is a Vegas 6 to Vegas 6+DVD upgrade for $299.95.

I would contact customer support and see if you can get a credit for the upgrade you got towards this one.

I am confused - the upgrade from a prior version to get Vegas 6+DVDA is 249 but the price if you already own Vegas 6 and want to get DVDA only is 299?

I wrote to them about this when DVDA 2.0 came out. They refused to separate the upgrades. Here is a viable alternative as IMO Vegas 4 was the best recent version of Vegas to date.:

DVD MovieFactory 4 Disc Creator .

PS: But in YOUR case I don't see why a phone call couldn't get you the DVDA 3.0 software for only the difference in price under the circumstances.
