DVDA & USB external drive

Tonight I installed a new Pioneer A06 drive via USB to a computer. I then installed DVDA on that computer. Upon building a DVD sample project, I then noticed that the drive was not identified by DVDA. I then noticed that RecordNow with DLA was installed. Since this software was not used, I uninstalled it, did a repair install on DVDA, but DVDA still would not recognize the drive. Is USB an acceptable connection for DVDA?

I think you will have to ask Sony directly, Ed. I know from readijg other posts that they stick exactly to their script on this one, saying that if the recorder is not explicitly on their very short list of recorders, that it is not supported.

You should be able to use Nero to burn the project. It seems to support anything and everything. If you don't have it, don't get the newest version (6.x) because it is bloatware at its worst. Instead, you can get a 5.x version on eBay for about $5 and then upgrade to the latest 5.x version from the archive section of Ahead Software's site (www.nero.com).

There has been all sorts of anecdotal stories about Nero not burning as well as DVDA, or DVDA not burning as well as Nero. I have not had problems on my A05 with the burns from either, but I have never done scientific tests.

Thanks John

How's version 5.59? Should that work?
