DVDA2 Audio Looping Bug?

FrankieP wrote on 5/11/2004, 10:06 AM
Just got my copy of Vegas+DVD...
I decided to prepare and burn a project done in DVDA1. Everything's fine, had the preview to external monitor going, test all links and menus, everything is looping fine. The burn came out fine except in the main menu when I had the audio looping turned on. It loops fine during preview but doesn't loop in the final copy. Looping was okay in the other pages (I have 2 pages for chapter selections) just not in the main menu. Anybody with similar experiences? Thanks!

DITTO,

Exactly the same issue, all looped ok in simulation but not on the final burned disc. Using DVDA-2, this I would imagine is a certain 'bug'. However overall the program is pretty stable sans the few issues I have had to date but Sony techs are onto this.

Thanks for confirming this. I agree, overall the prog is pretty stable. This bug is very annoying though. I hope they'll fix it soon. But yeah, i'm very happy with the update.

You might want to try a workaround until a fixed update is out: Use end actions to link the menu to itself (sort of a manual loop).

Thanks Ro max,

A good idea, also thought of having the menu play an info page then bounce back or something like that.

Does the audio stop only if you are using a still image?

If you create an mpeg the same length of the audio using Vegas 5
and use that instead of the still file, does it work correctly then?

Dear RCourtney,

Yep same issue. Dosen't matter what way you do it. It seems only to effect the main menu loop?

I'm a DVD-A newbie, and upon creating my first DVD I hit this bug. A quick search this morning found this thread, so I see I am not alone.

Sony, has this been recognized as a known bug? Or should I report this to support?

A bit depressing that I found such a basic bug so quickly; makes me nervous about the quality in general....

This is a known bug and will be fixed in the next update of DVDA2.

It occurs when the menu is a still. The only workaround is to add some animation to the menu (i.e. video background, animated graphic or button).

Thanks Sony - I'll use one of the workarounds.
