DVDA2 AUDIO RECOMPRESSION

Here's the deal, I have a project in vegas 5.0 and I'm utilizing a 16 bit 48,000 khz pcm stereo file.

Question is, how do I render in vegas 5.0 using the dvd architect ntsc template without having dvd2a recompress the audio? I understand the gist of using two seperate files (one for video and one for audio) but how do you render just an audio file in vegas that will sync together with the .mpv once I'm ready to finalize the DVD? I've tried it, and it still wants to compress..I even brought in the .mpv, and a seperate .wav track in dvd2a just to see if it would work, and it still wants to recompress the audio before finalizing. Please help, thanks.

You render using the default template for "Dolby Digital AC-3"

DVDA normally wants the audio and video in a seperate file that it will multiplex together for you. The prefered audio format is usually AC3.

Ahh, thanks Scott.... So I render the video in vegas, and also render the audio seperately in vegas as well by utilizing the dolby digital ac3 file of type.
Next question is, when I open dvd2a, I then bring in each file seperately, and they should in theoru sync together perfectly right?

Thanks!!

If the filenames are the same, and they are located in the same directory, then DVDA will associate the .AC3 file with the .MPG file automatically.

And yes, if they were in sync in Vages, then they will be in sync in DVDA.
