DVDA2 "New features" document

Hello,

I am trying to go through page 54 to 58 in the "New features guide" for DVDA2 and don't get anything like what is shown in figure 47 (pg. 58). My button turns all one color instead of the highligted border shown in figure 47.

Any ideas as to what I could have done wrong? I used a .png file just like it says to so the transparency works correctly.

Thanks

Did you set the highlight style for each button to "Custom"?

Did you set the menu's Highlight Mask property to "Transparency"?

When you created the PNG, did you actually enable transparency? Having transparency and saving the file as a PNG isn't always enough -- sometimes you actually have to flip a switch somewhere so that transparency is retained. For example, in Paint Shop Pro, I create my file, choose Save and then click the Optimizer button. There is a tab for transparency settings.

What program did you use to create the PNG? If you re-open the PNG in that program, is the transparency stil there, or is it replaced with a solid color? If it's a solid color, then you didn't enable transparency.

I followed the directions exactly as specified.

I didn't get any options about transparency when I made the PNG file. It gave me the option of making it interlaced or not, tat is it.

I am using Photoshop Elements 2.0 to make the graphics.

I am going to try it again and see what happens.

Thanks

I have not used Photoshop Elements, but I believe you want to use its "Save for the Web" function. Okay, you're not actually saving for the web, but I think that's where you get the option to enable transparency.

I finally got it to work. It turns out that it was my mistake (no surprise there!).

I didn't have the mask's background set to transparent so it brought the whole graphic in as the mask instead of the just the graphic I wanted to use for the highlight.

Thanks for your help.

Hi,
where is that document? I cannot find it under the Vegas manual link...

Go Here and you will see two links on the right-hand side of the pages. One will be the Vegas 5 new features and another one for the DVDA 2 new features.
