??? I thought Aussie keyboards were upside down as well as backwards :-)

DVD Architect Pro 5 software will have Blu-ray authoring and burning functionality when it is released in June.
Details are in the latest newsletter for those who haven't received it via email yet.

So why is it that when you look in a mirror which flips everything, the image is reversed left-right, but not up-down?????

And to make it even worse, you guys use PAL.
After all, Never Twice the Same Colour is SO much better :-(

It's going to be released in June of what year?
JJKizak wrote on 5/1/2008, 2:07 PM
If the image in the mirror was reflected as to the actual position that the subject was in then it would be flipped. The "flipped" image in the mirror is not really flipped.

The focal point is BEHIND the mirror.
Chienworks wrote on 5/1/2008, 3:01 PM
Eh, no prize for either of you, sorry. The image is indeed flipped. The focal point is in front of the mirror because it's *you* that sees the image. And neither of your answers explain the observed dichotomy between left/right and up/down.

In fact, the image is NOT flipped left/right either. Wave your left hand and you'll see that the hand on the left in the image is the one waving, so left is still left! What's actually happening is that the image is flipped front to back. If it was really an unreversed duplicate of you in the mirror you would see your backside, not your face*.

*Which reminds me of a Brian Prothro album cover. Sadly i can't remember which one.
