I have many folders full of clips which I want to assess for suitability and cut bits off and throw the trash away. I don't really need movie studio for this. Can anyone recommend software which will do this easily.

What format/file type are your clips?

Can't recommend a tool without knowing that.

Clips are from canon camcorder and are mp4

Your cam may have come with SW that does this.
