Easy Question: Still Durations

I have to believe this is an easy question to answer, but I can't find it anywhere. I'm doing a video for a friend of all still pictures. I have inserted 188 stills and three songs. I'd like an easy way to select all the pictures and edit their duration at one time in order to match the timing of the songs. HOW?! Thanks!

Step 1: calculate the total length of the three songs in seconds.
Step 2: Divide that total by 188; the result will be a number of seconds + thousand''s of seconds. example for 3 five minute songs: 3X300secs= 900 secs and 900/188= 4.787 secs
Step 3: In Vegas, click Options<Preferences tab Editing. Look for 'new still image length' and set time to the calculated result 4.787 and hit ok.
Step 4: In Vegas' explorer select the 188 images and drag them to the video track. Drag the three songs to the music track.

By match the timing of the song do you mean to equally divide the 188 pictures duration over the length of the song or do you mean to match the BEAT of the song?

You can also Select All of the pictures and Group them ( you may have to use the Selection Edit Tool to Select them if you already have them on your timeline ), and then you can CTRL Drag the end of that group to make the pictures change faster or slower.

If you're using the Selection Edit Tool ( hit the D key twice ), while you have the Left Mouse Button clicked, also click the Right Mouse Button to change the box from Horizontal Box, to Vertical Box, and then back to regular Box.
