Looks like a combination of #1 & #3 :-)
I just checked on Vegas 7 & 8 and it's 4th from the bottom (in the Timecode format box).

sorry, i meant under video fx (NOT output). i simply wanted to add tc to clips on timeline, not final output. i have every variety of smpte, but no pal?

will use absolute and frames, but why no PAL / EBU?

i'd be very, very afraid that when she does make her mind up, it's not to teach us a lesson....

You're absolutely correct!!
I've never noticed that omission before.
What's even stranger is that you can drop any one of the those timecode FX on a clip and, when the window opens up, select SMPTE EBU in the Timecode format dropdown box and it'll work.

I agree about not upsetting Mother Nature.
Unfortunately Stephen Harper, our current Prime Minister, refuses to support Kyoto or to give more than empty promises to most environmental issues :-(

by jove, you're right! however, if i select the 240 clips on the timeline and THEN add tc, i don't get the option unless i go through everyone of them.....

will put in a note to support.

really mike, what do you expect from a politician; common-sense, vision, foresight, compassion, humanity?

Listed as "SMPTE EBU 25fps video" right above "SMPTE Non Drop 29.97" ?

It's because the EBU version is not stored as an fx preset but as an adjustable timecode format only. So this needs the filter window to be opened first before to select EBU timecode.

If you want the EBU adjustment as an "ready-to-take" preset - once open the window, select the EBU 25 fps version and save it as your own preset. From then on it is also listed in the FX windows and you can drag and drop your personally saved EBU preset onto all timeline events.

thanks marco, that's just what i did as you were posting! ;-)

all the same, why isn't it a preset, it's not, as far as i'm aware, in the least bit 'adjustable'?

again, thanks
