Echo driver problems

I broke one of my cardinal rules and "upgraded" 2 things at once. I upgraded to XP and a new Layla 24 card simultaneously. I installed the Echo drivers and was very happy with the system...until I tried to use Asio drivers. They weren't there! The driver existed in my system, and had an entry in the registry. None of my other apps gave me an Asio option either. When I tried to reinstall the drivers, the installer (as always) tried to uninstall the previous drivers before reloading. Got an error message that said the driver couldn't be uninstalled (can't read .MSI file)
I went through a series of emails to Echo support, the results of which can be boiled down to -"...uhhh, try reinstalling the OS". I'm used to BS like this from Microsoft support, but not from reputable hardware manufacturers. I know there is a manual uninstall procedure out there somewhere. I can't waste any more time with Echo. Can anyone out there help? Thanks.

Goto the windows control panel and try the "add/remove hardware" option. Then reboot, and it should lead you through the install process.

No dice, Red. same "file read error in.MSI" The add/remove programs utilizes the same uninstall script as the Echo installer does. Any other suggestions? Thanks.

Sorry to chime in but Rednroll suggested you to "add/remove _hardware_" not "add/remove programs". Try the first one... Should work.

Thank you. I was blinded by my anger. Nice catch.
