Edit in M2T or Cineform?

I'm currently using V7 and, for all my recent projects, have been capturing and editing with Cineform because M2T preview performance was not high enough.

I should clarify that clips play back fine, however there is an unacceptable lag where it found the right spot in the clip, and then starts playing. The best way to describe some of these projects would be "music videos", so there's a lot of fast and rapid cuts and, using M2T files, I'd usually miss the beginning few frames due to the lag or, in some cases of very fast cuts, the whole thing.

The system is QX6700 based with 4GB ram and a 4 drive RAID 0, so the performance should be there.

Now that V8 is out and coincidentally I need to start a new project in the next couple of days, I'm starting to eye native M2T editing again. Lower disk space, no reencoding, and hopefully none of the gotchas I usually experience working with AVI files (such as increased memory usage).

So is M2T performance any improved in V8, particularly finding the appropriate start frame?
