Unfortunately, you can't do this! It's a known bug in MS but you should contact tech support - there may be a patch available.

I was wondering the same thing. Boy I hope they correct this shortcoming.
Thanks

Make sure you notify Sony tech support of your inability to edit the rolling text - the more complaints they have about it, the more likely they might be to correct the problem sooner rather than later.

Doesn't really work that way. All it takes is one customer to find a problem (we have to be able to reproduce it) to make it into the engineering database. Credit roll is one of the features in the MS Features list so it gets high priority -- I just would have preferred it if *we* had found it and not you. Sigh.

BTW, Thanks everyone for finding this one.

PS Customer suggestions get put in a different database (use the Send Feedback).

Hopefully it will be resolved soon - I submitted the issue to Sony on October 4th. My records show it was Question Reference #031004-000016. Sony's response was as follows:

Thanks for writing. Thanks to your detailed instructions I have reproduced the problem. I have submitted it to the developers so they can add it to their bug database. This should be fixed in a future update, but unfortunately I do not know when that is planned for.

I too have been waiting months with no
patch or update expected in the immediate future
according to tech support.

This begs the question; is MS different to VF in some ways? There's no probs like this in VF.

Being a developer myself, if I had to guess (and this is just a guess), I would think that MS is based off of the Vegas 4 code base and VF is based off Vegas 3 code base, so yes they are different in that way. Since Vegas 4 has key framing in Generated Media and MS only has Begin and End, they would have to remove some functionality from Vegas Generated Media to get the MS version. Apparently someone removed a bit too much function. ;-)

Any time you modify code you open up the possibility of introducing defects. Either they didn’t do a full regression test or modifying scrolling text is not one of the tests in the regression bucket. So in addition to fixing the problem, lets hope they add this test case to their test scenario to make sure it doesn’t get reintroduced again.
