I edited my video (shot in 24pA) in Vegas in 24p but when i output edited video to tape using 29.97i the movement (especially pans) looks really bad. Should i use other setting rather than 29.97i?
I get 24p footage from my 3D aps all of the time. I've obtained best results by working and editing with a 24p project template. Nothing gets interlaced until I go to tape when it then does the pulldown.
Yes, you should be using the "NTSC DV 24p (inserting 2-3 pulldown)" template instead. Doing it that way renders as 24p and inserts pulldown. Using the standard DV tempalte renders as 60i directly, which not only takes longer but doesn't use pulldown to convert 24p to 60i, it uses frame blending, a completely different look.
