Editing audio in Sony

I have a problem of synchronization when I capture a tape with sony.The sound lasts 12 seconds longer than the frames on the tape. I have no dropped frames. I know where it happened. At a certain place on the preview, just by seeing the movements of the lips, you can teel it is synchronized but 12 seconds later, it is not. In the trimmer section, I've made a selection and I've selected "audio only" to remove that 12 seconds but I whe I click "delete" from the "edit" menu, nothing happens. Is there a way to delete only a portion of the audio in vegas ?? TIA

Yes,
you need to ungroup the audio and video tracks first. Then you can cut the audio track only and delete a section.

Once you get rid of the unwanted material. You probably then want to regroup the material.
