Editing HDV

I was wondering if an Azio Case Hi-Speed USB 2.0 Hard Drive Enclosure Kit with a ATA133 hard drive would be fast enough to edit HDV. (The media would be stored on this drive) I was looking at other external hard drive options but ATA133 drives are pretty cheap now and I could use them for archiving. Anyone use the Azio enclosure kit or know if it is suitable for HDV editing?

Thanks

It's suitable, any drive is. Question is...what format will you be editing? If it's CineForm, you'll have no issue using an external, if it's DV proxy, you'll have no problems, if it's m2t, you won't have problems generated by the drive, but if you're doing anything with 4:2:2 formats, you won't be able to do this on anything but a SATA or SCSI RAID, no external systems....
Keep in mind, some USB systems won't work well with some configurations. Firewire is generally more optimal.

Thanks, I know this drive isn't the best for editing hdv, but I like that I could just pop another 300gb drive in for under $100. What if I edited with the proxy files and then replaced them before rendering with 4:2:2 by using gearshift? Would an external drive like this be able to handle rendering a 4:2:2 file stored on the drive?

Thanks
