Editing in vegas 9 platium

I edit my AVCHD clips from my Sony SR12 Camcorder in Vegas movie studio 9 platium. I'd like to then keep them once edited to a folder on my hard drive as a AVCHD file. So I can put them back on my SR12 camcorder and play them in hi-def on my television.

I want to avoid sending them to DVD Architect Studio and keep my files as AVCHD once edited.

Can anyone advise me on how to do this?

Thanks for any help.

You can't write back to an AVCHD camera with Vegas. You need to buy something like an XBoX360 or a Sony PS3, or to burn Blu-Rays, to playback HD files to your HDTV.

I was told that if I edited my AVCHD file from my Sony SR12 Cam in Vegas Movie Studio 9 and saved it as. to a folder on my hard drive in a AVCHD format I could open it with Sony Picture Motion Browser and send it back to my SR-12 and then be able to view it on my Hi-Def Television all edited. I just can't seem to edit in Vegas Studio and save it as an AVCHD file.

You can export in AVCHD from within Vegas Platinum 9. You need to press "Render AS" from the main menu, select Sony AVC, and then the AVCHD 1920x1080/60i template.

I have tried that and the Vegas Movie Studio Software closes down completely like I exited out of the program.

Then that's a Vegas bug. AVCHD encoding crashing has been reported many times here on this forum. Ask Sony for support for this.
