Editing MPEG2 files in V5

This is the first time that I am editing mpeg2 files in V5.0b and I noticed that with the sound ungrouped from the video when I use the "copy to Forge" function and edit a sound clip it plays fine in Forge, then when it adds take two to the timeline it adds a "click" right at the start, but it still sounds fine when going back to forge. It also shows up in the render. Also the more I ctrl-drag the the sound clip the more distorted it becomes. Normalize is on all the time. The distortion sounds like gargling.
I have also noticed that sometimes (not all) i will loose the shuttle pro and external monitor when going back and forth from V-5 to Forge.
When I reboot it is OK.
Not really complaining just thinking out loud.

The click - This sometimes happen with audio. Vegas has a built in function to prevent this and the user can turn it on or off. If you place the marker somewhere in the middle of an audio event and hit the S key it will split the event in two. Don't move the marker yet. Zoom in on the split and look at the audio. It should have two very quick fades right and left of the marker. The function is ON by default.

When editing a sound clip in Forge it will not add the fade at the start. You can manually make it fade in quickly.

The distortion - This is normal when streching audio too much. Right click the audio and choose properties. Under Time strech/Pitch shift you can decide which method to use when stretching audio.

Shuttle Pro - Don't have one. Don't know how to fix. :)

Thanks. But even with the small fades I still get the click. I have to expand the timeline then cut out the click and hope nothing else gets cut out. A real time waster.

Hmm, then it must be something I haven't experienced myself. Is the click already present when you open it up in Forge? If so, you could mute or tweak away the bastard before saving and using it in Vegas. If not, sorry, I can't come up with another solution right now.
