Editing Question

I am using Screenblast Movie Studio 3 and love it. I am relatively new at movie making but have muddled my way through most situations without having to bother you folks out there. My question is this: when edtiting an event and want to--say--remove the last frame of the clip--is there an easy or exacting method of accomplishing this. When I grab the the clip (event) with the mouse and try to move it back to the left one frame, I usually move it too far and it requires several attempts. The split features doesn't work this close to the end of the event. Something tells me that there is better way to achieve this and this will be one of those "DUH" answers and I will have some egg on my face when I hear it.

Thanks in advance for your help. Anyone?

Use the keyboard, it is much more precise. Alt+Keypad 4/6 will move the event one frame at a time.

<EDIT>Oops, I thought you wanted to move the event (aka clip) one frame over. It looks like you want to move the cursor one frame over. In that case, use the Alt-Right/Left Arrow command.</EDIT>

I believe if you are on the clip you want to remove the last frame from, you can press the end key on your keyboard, to take you to the end. Then, use the arrow keys move a frame at a time to position the cursor where you want to split it. Finally, split the clip and delete the portion you don’t want. I cannot verify that right now because I don’t have the software inform of me. Good Luck!

Did you get it to do what you wanted? and how did you do it?

Thanks folks. I tried your suggestions and it works great. Using the ALT+arrow keys did exactly what I wanted and i.e. to position the cursor precisely on a particular frame. Ironically, I encountered a different problem last night--a first for me. When I attempted to open an existing project--one which I have opened an worked on several times--the VIDEO clips would not display in the media pool and therefore not on the timeline either. The media is online and the AUDIO plays just fine. The AVI icons in the media pool seem to have the jitters as if they are trying to display. ANY IDEAS?

Thanks for the prompt reply. I will check that out tonight. I recently imported two Logos given to me by my son. I don't know if they were Photoshop files or not--sounds as though that might be the answer. I will report back tomorrow with results. I can't say enough about this forum.

I removed the Photoshop logos from my computer and it also fixed the problem. Anyone know what's up with that?

Were those .psd files? Those files can be quite large. You might be better off saving to another format (JPEG, or GIF or PNG if you need transparency) and then importing that file into Movie Studio.
