editing text

guys , i really cant find the way to type the text.
what i did is : view / media generators / text / drag default text to the timeline /
click on the generated media (top right box)
but i can change the frame size and the length , but nothing for type the text.
thanks for any help.

Maybe your text generated media window is too small - enlarge it vertically.

I'm not in front of Vegas right now, but you might try making the video track height taller because I think there should be three buttons on the right of the event. One of those allows you to edit the text.

Can you doubleclick on the Text on the timeline, that should bring up the Text Edit Screen.
