"Editing with VV 8.0 on a Notebook?"

Thanks to all in advance for responding. I have a new Notebook.
Intel Core 2 Duo 1.66GHz / 533Mhz FSB / 2MB L2cache / 2GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2RAM at 533MHz / 80GB SATA 7200RPM Hard Drive / 128MB NVIDIA GeForce GS Video card. I am going to get an apprpriate external HD and another monitor. Should this perform up to Par? Any advice, comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also any thoughts on "Cinescore" would be helpful. Thank you again in advance. Sincerely, Tony M.

The beauty of Vegas has always been that it will run on pretty much anything. It should run quite well on your new laptop. Congratulations!

Well, my first thought is, "What's VV 8.0?" I've never heard of it. But, assuming you mean Vegas Pro 8.0 ...

I have a notebook with about 1/3 the guts of yours and i edit HD on it. It works for me. Yeah, i don't get full frame rate previews with anything other than straight footage, but i can still use it well enough to edit. What's 'par' for you?
