EDL import into Vegas.

Hi there,

I was able to import a rough cut I assembled on Avid Xpress DV into Vegas 4 via a cmx 3600 edl. The sequence imported ok but any reference to the master tapes/clips was lost (?). In order to get the media online I had to log in/out each cut and batch digitize the clips...

Has anyone had a better luck with this kind of convertions? Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks!

Unfortunately, this is about the best you'll do for the time being. This is one of the few weaknesses Vegas has, importing of EDL's.
Without meaning to start anything, curious as to why you used DV Express to capture/rough cut? Clips captured in Avid won't show up in Vegas (or any other app) as a result of the headers inserted in Avid. Avid imports outside media, but won't share with others at all.

Hi Spot!

I was using a friend's avid about a year ago. I liked vegas for many reasons and decided finishing my short on it. I still have another (longer) unfinished project in avid and was tempted to make it a *.veg file :(

Thanks for your reply!
