Eliminating Credit Roll Flicker and Other Tips

No question here, just some tips.

My project is 1920x1080i and I render to both Blu-ray and DVD video files. When using Sony Credit Roll, I found that my Blu-ray rendering looked great but my DVD rendering had a small amount of flicker on the text as it scrolled slowly up the screen. It wasn't too bad, but it bothered me enough to do something about it. The solution was pretty simple. Before rendering the DVD file, I edited the Sony Credit Roll and changed the frame size from 1920x1080 to 853x480. (The reason it is 853 horizontal pixels instead of 720 has to do with the pixel aspect ratios.) Problem solved.

I've found that it works well to prepare Credit Roll text in a text editor instead of typing it directly into the Credit Roll timeline object. Once everything is entered, I just copy/paste it into the credit roll. When pasting, any line that starts with a space will be interpreted to be a Header line, and any line with a tab character in it will be brought in as a Dual Item line. Works great.
