End action on chapter markers

Hi,

I have tried to create basic chapter selection menu so that after each chapter it would return to menu, not to continue playing the timeline content. On the chapter markers end action I have Command: Link and Destination: Return to most recent menu, but it just doesn't return to menu after the chapter.

I guess there is some easy solution for this but I don't just find it. Does somebody know solution?

My version is DVDA 4.5d

You can't set an end action for a chapter since, technically, chapters don't "end." They are like bookmarks -- they indicate where the reader (in this case, your DVD player) should begin. Theoretically, you could say that the next chapter marker is the "end" of the previous one. But by the time the player has gotten to that, it's too late to have reacted to the "end" of the previous chapter since now it's playing the new one. ;-)

To assign end actions to your chapters, you need to turn each one into full fledge media items. To do this:

1. Drag your video onto your menu to create a button. Navigate into it to make sure that you have all your chapters set..
2. Go back to the menu with that button, copy it, and paste it until you have one for each chapter.
3. Navigate into each copy and change its In and Out points so that that copy of the media begins where you want it to start and ends where you want it to return to the menu.

DVD Architect will put your movie on the disc only once, but will play each "chapter" as you wanted. You can also include a copy of the media with normal In and Out points if you need a "Play All" button.
