End Action Problem

I want to create a DVD with a single main menu. On that menu I want a group of choices presented as pictures so that a user can click on one of the pictures to play the associated video. After the video finishes it should return to the main menu.

When I use the Preview mode it does exactly that. However, when I burn a real DVD it often freezes at the end of a video instead of returning to the main menu. It isn't consistent; sometimes it does return to the main menu and sometimes it stops and freezes at the end of the video.

What am I doing wrong? What should I do to correct the problem?

Thanks,

Hate to say it but maybe try another brand of media.

While hotly debated whether it's fact or superstition, can also try burning at 8X.

I agree that media is the usual culprit. However, I have a Pioneer DV-525 which has become gimpy and is exhibiting exactly this behavior.

So, two suggestions:

1. Try the disc on another player and see if it is all right.

2. To test the quality of the burn, download and run the DVD Speed utility from www.cdspeed2000.com.

Hi guys, thanks for the suggestions.

I have been trying different things to see if I could find something that would work. I tried different DVD media. I tried removing other selections from the main menu and altering the position on the main menu. I also rendered the media with Vegas render and with two variations of Ultimate S rendering. None of that made any difference.

However, I did try something that was interesting. I normally use Architect 5. I also tried burning the DVD with Architect 4 and with Architect 3. Same problem with 4 but it worked OK with 3. I would just use 3 except it doesn't seem to offer chapters and I would like to use that feature if possible. Is there something I might be doing wrong with chapters that could introduce problems?

Thanks again,

David
