error_0X800705aa capture error _firewire cable?

hi,
I changed my firewire cable from 6ft to 10ft because I moved the cpu to the next room (its now so quiet in here and I love it), however, when I capture , I get an error
"An error occured while captureing from the device. Error 0X800705aa (message missing)"
if I try again , I may also get " an error occured while capturing from the device. An invalid pointer was specified."

I truly hope I can fix this without moving the cpu back here. It was a nightmare to try to mix with all the racket going on from the fans...I am just changing the setup because I will be upgrading to a dual board with 8 fans... even more racket.

Could it be the cable or is it just the length.
I never had this with my 6ft cable.
My other option would be to build a kind of boothe for th cpu and make it sound proof, but I would then have an airflow porblem.
Any help appreciated.
Its a QVS cable from microcenter
DSE, I think I read that you had your setup next door, what are you using?
Thanks
Myx
