Error 0xc00d0bc2 (message missing)

I have never been able to render to wmv because of this error message. I don't usually have a need to render to that format, but now I do so I am stuck.

I have downloaded the codecs for windows media 9, but it makes no difference. I can't render to wm8 or 9 without that message.

I am running W98SE and VV4 using media player 7.1 with the wm9 codecs installed. WM9 files play fine.

I searched it and didn't come up with an answer.

Can anyone help?

OK,
I figured it out. There is no way Vegas 4 will render to wmv unless you install Windows Media Player 9. Unfortunately I had to install it for whatever reason. Media Player 7.1 with wm9 codecs played perfectly with little bloat, but for some reason Vegas needs whatever is in WMP9 to render to wmv. Installing wmfdist2.exe didn't work (as suggested in the knowledge base).
