Todd,
I got it in.
The error I saw was 1714.

Here's what I did...

It was obviously looking for an installer file that may have been moved - or whatever.

I had a good installation on my new system, so I looked in the C\Windows\Installer directory. You'll need to 'Customize..' the view so you can see the comments.

Looked for files that have the C++ 2005 redistributable comment (found two) and copied them to the failing system's same directory. I then copied and renamed one of them to the one it was looking for - vcredist.msi.

Pointed it to it - gave me the same message twice, I clicked cancel and it went ahead and installed something successfully and then updated VP9.0b to VP9.0c.

All seems OK.

Try this...

Download and install the C++ 2005 and 2008 service packs from:

http://download.microsoft.com/download/6/B/B/6BB661D6-A8AE-4819-B79F-236472F6070C/vcredist_x86.exe

and

http://download.microsoft.com/download/9/7/7/977B481A-7BA6-4E30-AC40-ED51EB2028F2/vcredist_x86.exe

(They both have the same filename so save them in different locations.)

After that Vegas 9.0c should install OK.

Thanks Tom,

by the time I read the thread, Mac put his suggestion there and I decided to go with that option.
Thanks Mac.
Worked like a charm.
