Hi.
im making a movie and im like 70% done or something. yesterday i tried to render it just for testing to see how it would look like. but after 1 second of rendering i got this error message:

An error occured during the current operation.
An Exception has occured.

then there is a OK button and a details. if i press OK, vegas just shuts down. and this is what it says in the details:

anyone know what can be wrong?
i have tried to restart my computer, reinstall vegas, install a newer version, changing codecs and stuff. i also thought it could be something with a bad effect or something causing it in the movie. but i can render the whole movie if i take 1/3rd at a time. but if i try to render more then 1/3rd i get this message.
the movie is now about 4mins. so it aint that big.

EDIT:
i just tried to change the file from .AVI to .WMV and now it works. though i would like it to be in AVI. but if there is nothing i can do then WMV will have to do.

so if anyone has a solution or a sugestion please tell me!

What format are you rendering to?

i was rendering to .AVI. but when i tried with WMV it worked fine.

though i think WMV is better for me coz im not so experienced with all the settings u have to do in divx and stuff to get it work good with good quality and good compression so i will use WMV instead.

but if anyone knows any solutions or sugestions to solutions u are welcome to tell them.

Anytime you get an exception error Windows attempts to give you a snapshot of what was going on where in its registers when the error happened. Obviously, you'll see Vegas files listed since that's the application you were using. Other files listed, in your case the AVI plug-in point to what probably caused the problem. Since you got past the problem rendering to a different file format you can be reasonablly sure the AVI plug was what caused the problem. As to WHY, lots of luck. Only the engineers that created Vegas may have a clue (and then its may be just a wild guess) so anyone posting a dump of some exception error expecting a clear answer as to what happened probably isn't going to get much help unless some Sony guy/gal responds.
