FWIW, I had the same issue and this is what MAGIX support said to do:

To resolve this issue, please do the following.  First, please uninstall the program from your system, you will then manualy delete the "installation.ini" file, after which you will reinstall the software. You'll find the "installation.ini" file in the program folder under the "ProgramData" hierarchy. So, it should follow this file path:
C:\ProgramData\VEGAS\VEGAS_Pro_15
Program Data is a hidden file on the system.  You may need to do the following before being able to see or access the Program Data directory.
⦁    Press Windows Key + E to bring up an Explorer window.
⦁    Select the option that says Organize and choose "Folder and Search Options".
⦁    Click the View tab.
⦁    Under Advanced settings, click "Show hidden files and folders", then click OK.

For me, I just ended up uninstalling the program, deactivating on the Magix site, then reinstalling just Vegas Pro and nothing else, then re-activating it. I did this before I got the response from Magix, and that seemed to resolve it.

@karma17 - Yeah, that's along the same lines as the Link I offered our friend. When in doubt or frustrated beyond caring, use the BIG 10Kg Uninstall Mallet.🔨
