error: data format corruption

I´ve been testing DVD Architect, still with the beta version. I am constantly getting an error when ever my project goes over 9.8 MB.

I am traying to make a project with lots of menus and submenus, pages... lots of links, that´s why I think I am getting a large size project.

Every time I open a project over 9.8 Mb I get this message:
"Data format corruption found during read"
than
"An error occured during this command (Id: 4102) The reason of this error could not be determined"

Have any one ever had this problem? Is that only in the beta version? If it is, when I buy DVD Architect, can any one garanty I won´t have this problem any more?

please help

Demo, not beta. ;-) I don't think Sony releases betas to the public.

I am constantly getting an error when ever my project goes over 9.8 MB.

That's 9.8GB, right, not 9.8MB? 9.8MB is nothing to a DVD. ;-)

Haven't seen the error before and can't find it mentioned on the forum anywhere. I don't know if it's caused by the size of your project or not, but you're gonna have to bring that size down anyhow. You can't burn a disc of more than 4.7GB (4.37GB in binary) in DVD Architect. Even the dual layer discs (which DVDA doesn't support) are only 8.5GB.

Most likely, the large size is due to the videos themselves, rather than the menus. Unless you're using really long motion backgrounds, menus don't take up much space. How much actual video content do you have, and what bitrates are they encoded at?

Is that only in the beta version?

I suspect that you'd have the same problem in the paid version. Again, 9.8GB is way too much for a DVD, especially a single-layer one.

Okay i just went in the DAR file with an hex editor and i see it stores all subtitle streams in there.
Sony crew, better investigate this, major bug!
To replicate : fill your project with subs until it has a size of over 10mb

please fix, i almost decided to go with Sony for dvd authoring, but now this...

some more investigation:

apparently a project with empty sub streams is hardly 116Kb...
Yup, so the big filesizes are coming from substreams.
Sony, why not (urgently) add the substreams in separate files (as they do with the audio streams .sfk
This would help a lot.
Somebody of Sony please inform me asap whether they plan to fix this on the short run. I need to decide what tool to use..
