Error loading Audio Plugins

teomorell wrote on 3/18/2001, 2:36 PM
I have just upgraded to release 384 and still can not load
the audio plugins on Windows 2000 Pro.
I have installed the demo version of Media Stuido 6.0 and I
can load and use the Sonicfoundry audio plugins, so they
are properly installed and working OK. I just can lod them
on Vegas video.
Any ideas.

Thanks

Teo

I hope this would help others.
Guess what?
Vegas video seems to have some problem deling with long
files names on Windows 2000 Pro SP1. After posting several
messages here and upgrading to 384 there was no way to load
the plugins. As I could not read the full message in the
dialog box (because of the long file name) i decided to
install to c:\vegas, and now it works. Well....
I said that it is Vegas Video, because Ulead's Media Stuido
can load and work with the audio plugins in the default
(long name) directory.

What is the long path that is not working? Is it the
location of vegas or the location of the audio plugins?
Are you doing a complete or custom install? Do you change
any of the locations of the individual components (fileio
plugins, audio plugins)?

Thanks

I have installed Vegas Video to the default directories:
C:\Program Files\Sonic Foundry\Vegas
C:\Program Files\Sonic Foundry\Shared Plug-Ins\Audio
C:\Program Files\Sonic Foundry\Shared Plug-Ins\File Formats
C:\Program Files\Sonic Foundry\Shared Plug-Ins\Market
C:\Program Files\Sonic Foundry\Shared Plug-Ins\Video.

If I install to c:\vegas (short name). Vegas video loads
the audio plugins.

Thanks
