Where and how is your "stream" stored and as what?

@j-v The "stream" is probably referring to the video stream of a video file.

Searching the forum produced several threads but none appear to provide a solution, other than one which might have but the Sony page it linked to is no longer available.

@Tomas-G Possibly you have a corrupt file which is causing problems. Does the error message indicate which file? If so try temporarily deleting it from your project. Also what are the media details of the problem file. Where did it come from?

I found the problem and it was a corrupt file as you said it could be. I removed it from the project and now it seems to work fine.
