Error Message in VV 2.0h

Our studio recently acquired Vegas Video 2.0. We have composed a 4.7 min. music video and want to render it to our PC hard drive as an .avi file. We have a 60gb partition (55gb available) in an IBM 100gb 7200 rpm ide hard drive, with a 750hz AMD K-II processor and 128mb ram. All systems are optimized, yet we still get the following error message when attempting to render files over about 3 minutes in length:

An Error occurred whiile creating [our file name].avi.
An error occurred while writing the file. Make sure you have write access to the file/folder and that there is enough free space.

Can anyone help with this?

Thanks
Kevin

what file system are you using on your drives?

FAT32 is limited to 4GB file size. Check if your files are stopping at the 4GB barrier (if using FAT32).

you should format your drives using NTFS (only available under WinNT/2k/XP) and you will no longer have the file size limitation.

i'm sure there is a work around for you situation too, but i'm not familiar with VV2's capabilites in that area.

also make sure you are using the latest version which is 2.0h.

VV3 could potentially eliminate the problem for you, since you can print to tape from the timeline.
