Error Message Please Help Me!!

I Couldnt Get my ATI Capture to work so i got video factory and every time i try to capture video i get the message The device 'ATI TV Conexant Capture' could not be opened please be sure that it is turned on and is not being used by another application or user.
i think its being used by another application because whaen i use the ATI you can see the video it just doesnt capture. so can someone tell me how to set VF as my default user of my ATI capture card or whatever i need to do to fix it!!!

HELP ME PLEASE

p.s. i am using a DCR TRV-330 Digital 8 Camcorder with a 400mhz Celeron with 128ram and a 10 gig drive with Windows 98 SE, and 3Dfx Banshee 32 bit AGP video Accelerator.

Since your intention is to use VideoFactory for capturing, you really don't need the ATI software anymore. Besides, In my honest opinion, the ATI software is total junk that doesn't work and just bogs the system down. Uninstall all of the ATI software completely. Reboot. Reinstall only the video drivers and nothing else. Reboot. Now there shouldn't be anything else using the ATI capture hardware.
