Error Message "request is not enabled for this device"

Hi.

I have just downloaded the 30 day free trial of Vegas 19 Pro. All was going well creating a video on my laptop. I left the program running for a while and when I returned and tried to resume I had the following error message, 'An error occurred while starting playback. The request is not enabled for this device'. I pursued further and received the following message 'Warning: An error occurred while creating a new project. A device does not exist. The playback device Microsoft Sound Mapper does not exist.' It had been working perfectly well before this moment. I am using an ASUS TUF Gaming F15 with core i5 processor.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Another application probably captured the Sound Mapper device, you can try to find the offending app and disable it or try the Classic Wave driver.. or another audio device.
