Error message VF 1.0 Bld 21

why when i attempt render to .wmv i get this error
"An error occured while creating the media file Untitled.wmv. Error 0xc00d0bc4 (message missing)"

Win xp home. ive rendered to this format before without any problems earlier this year. im on a clean format of my drive.

I can't render any WMV 9 anymore. Getting error 0xc00d0bc4. Searched this topic & most refer to WinXP SP1. I'm running Win98SE.

I just started getting this error with 3.0, so I downloaded & installed 3.0b. No change.

Reinstalled the Windows Media 9 codec pack from MS. No change.

Any clues? Registry stuff? Anything? This format is important for me.

Try installing the Microsoft fix referenced in Knowledge Base article 266.

If that doesn't work then post back here with more details (service packs installed, apps installed, etc.).
