Error message when opening a project

Hello, Just got Vegas Movie Studio Platinum and just started trying to make vids, everything was OK until i started to open my saved projects. I get an error when I've opened my project, the message reads -

"An error occured while creating a proxy file for a stream. An unexpected error has occured".

After clicking OK (becasue that's all you can do) I notice that the Music peaks (waveform) for my music aren't there and it says "Peaks not available".

What can I do to get past this to show me the peaks?

Thanks

Hi,

I got the same error from Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 9.0b. When I open an existing video project I get message "An audio proxy file is being built..." and right after that an error message "An error occurred while creating a proxy file for a stream. A stream could not be read." After that I can see my video clips in timeline, but there is no waveform build in the audiotrack. However when you play the video in preview window, the sound is there, only the visual waveform is lost in timeline view.

So I have the same guestion, what can I do to get past this to show me the peaks?

The clips are avi's from DV cam and pocket digital camera and I'm creating DV project.

Ah,

problem solved. Select View/Rebuild Audio Peaks, and the waveform is being build. Great.

But still I keep on getting the error messages, altaugh now I can see the waveform. Strange.
