Error - Missing RIFF Header?

Atari Warlord wrote on 8/7/2006, 7:19 AM
I did a search and could not find this addressed in this forum. I'm trying to burn a DVD that I have successfully done several times already. Last night I made some editing changes and went to burn it. After about 10 seconds in the preparation state it stops and gives me a message about a possible corrupt file because the RIFF Header is missing. I'm not sure where to start looking because all of the files are working when tested within Architect.

Any help would be appreciated.

I rebuilt most of the audio files last night and still couldn't get past the error. Is there a log file created during the preparation process that could help me identify the file that is causing the problem?

Continuing the conversation with myself...I solved the problem last night following the steps below:

1. Give up!

2. Rebuild the menus from scratch in a new file using the same source files.

3. From Start to Finish less than an hour for a two hour DVD.

Do you happen to remember if you left Smart Prepare enabled or not? Was just thinking that maybe something smart prepare was looking at was tripping you up.

I checked this morning, and I did leave smart prepare enabled. I'll do a test this weekend to see if that fixes the problem. The new menus I built are 100% better than what I had, so I guess it was good I had the problem.
