Error on rendering an AVC Blu-Ray Disk

Hi!

I installed DVDA5 and started my experiments with Blu-Ray authoring.
And now I am facing a very strange behaviour:
Whenever I try to render out an AVC Blu-Ray I get the following Error:
(translated from my german version) “Warning: An error occurred when writing a file. The reason for the Error is unknown.”
This error pop up while rendering the iso file before even start to burn the Disk.
I tried all the different things: different source files, different resolutions, Different Datarates, Only Prepare a disk, reinstall DVDA5… but whatever I do, it seems to be a consistent error on my system when I try to render a AVC iso.

When I do a mpeg2 Blu-Ray everything runs fine! No errors! I get a nice Blu-ray disk with mpeg2!

As nobody else is reporting this, I think it must have to do something with my computer – whatever.

So here comes my question:

As the mpeg2 runs fine I am almost happy – because I can make Blu-ray with mpeg2. But I have too less knowledge in all this codec things: is there any difference for the end user in compatibility / quality / stability on the mpeg2 or AVC Disk.
Or asked in a different way: Is there any good reason why I should produce my blu-ray als AVC Bue-Ray Disks and NOT as mpeg2 Blu-ray … and therefor make this AVC thing run somehow?
Thank for any input,
Thomas

From what I can gather online, the only difference is the compression, AVC will allow much more footage per Bluray disc compared to MPEG2, but as far as picture quality no real difference to the naked eye in large files of 4Gigs or more, Not sure as to what your error issues are about.....

Thomas,

that error has been reported in the German Videotreffpunkt too. I have forewarded the error to the development team, but we have no answer yet.
