Error on save

Version 10

"Error occurred while saving your project. File cannot be created."

Out of no where I get this error. I've done a disk check, no other program has an issue, I've tried alternate locations... all fail.

OK so I download Version 11. That has to fix the issue right. Totally different software installed in a new directory.

Guess what... "Error occurred while saving your project. File cannot be created."

I think it relates to a Win 7 64 update that caused the computer to throw an activation screen. M$ solution was to remove all services pack and repair the OS. I did try to repair the OS but ended up reverting to the problem version. So I suspect this might be connected. But this doesn't explain why Version 11 has the same issue.

Got any clues as to what would upset this program in this way?

Are you trying to save the project file (Save As) or are you trying to output a movie of your project?

If it's the latter, it is possible you're dealing with an issue of disc space. Are you saving to an external or second hard drive? If the drive is formatted FAT32 (as they come from the factory) rather than NTSC or is partitioned, there is a file size limitation that could limit your ability to save longer or hi-def movies.

Could that be what's going on?

If it's the project file you're trying to save with a Save As, on the other hand, and you can't save it -- well, it's a relatively small file, and I'd be deeply concerned.

Disk NTFS
Free Space 400Gb
It's the project file I can't save. I was able to write the project to disk as output.

Something is definitely very wrong somewhere then! Wish I could help you.

Yea and I bet it is connected to copy protection. But even so you wouldn't expect a load of version 11 to be effected. I even registered version 10.

Magic wand required.
