Hi folks

I am new to vegas 5 and DVDA2 and I wondered if anyone could help me with my first project. I have just imported an AVI file into Vegas 5 for converting to MEPEG 2. I then imported it into DVDA2 to burn. I then optimized the now MEPEG 2 file prior to burning. The video had a green tick but the audio was not complient and said that it would be compressed.

When I went to burn it to DVD I got the message: 'error0X8004e0c8(message missing)' Could anyone tell me what this means or am I doing something really stupid!!!

Many Thanks
Steve

First, you'll be much better off if you render your audio as AC3 (or PCM if you can afford the space) directly from Vegas and when rendering video, select one of the DVD Architect templates.

Next, DVDA doesn't work well with every burner out there (it seems to especially have problems with external burners) - make sure you have the most recent update from the Sony Support Downloads site; also make sure that you have the latest firmware for your burner (check the manufacturers web site), and if that doesn't do it you'll probably need to invest in a seperate burning application such as Nero or CopyToDVD. You may also want to try different media - some people have better luck with +R than -R for example.

Hi Scott

Thanks very much for your advice. I have checked for the latest driver for my CD/DVD burner and that seems to be OK. I have Nero 5.5 so that should not be a problem. Yes, I was using -R and will try +R and will try and render the audio seperatly as you sugest.

Thanks
Steve
