Error Rendering WMV

Wondering if anybody had any luck removing XP SP1, Still having Windows Media Player 9 & Windows 9 Encoder installed. Does VV3 render correctly in WMV.
At this moment I have XP Home with SP1(downloaded), WMP9 & WME9. I Get error when rendering WMV files.

An error occurred while creating the media file "filename.wmv". Error
0xc00d0bc2 [message missing]

Running AMD 900
Soyo K7VTA-B w/built in sound VIA Sigmatel
256mb
20gig Weststern Digital Cav
AT 3D Rage 4mb

Tech support just keeps telling me that it is WMP9. Does not mention any thing towards SP1. This forum leads towards SP1.

Any help or guidance would be appreciated. Thank......

The best and the only way to get rid of it is to do a system restore---fact is, Microsoft says it on their site----What I did was restore and then I went to Gibson Research and downloaded this tiny file that solves the major security problem of XP. My computer runs flawlessly.

I'm having the same problem, and for the same reasons.

Rextilleon, would you tell us where you found that info on the Microsoft site so we can read it,
and,
which Gibson Research file you D'L'd to solve the problem?

Thanks

This thread should have the solution to your problem. If it doesn't work for you, please post again with more specifics about your system.
