there is the error i get.

if i put that file in another folder (and then select to just keep the file offline)...the VV file will load. otherwise, it crashes on opening - and i have to ctrl-alt-delte to get out of VV.

this always occurs when i have a velocity envelope on a track, and then split it. after i save it, and quit it - next time i open it, i simply cant.

since i did a TON of work on the file before, and now the only way to get it back is to delete my work and do it over, i'd love to just get a new build of VV where its fixed, if that is possible!
thanks

still now luck
...also no mention of this in the bug fixes so i wasn't expecting any fix. i was right, no fix - there is the new error (above)..

anyone else? lol

The most common reason Vegas has crashed has been hardware acceleration in the display card. You might try turning it off.

There were some Radeon card drivers that hosed things up too.

You might try posting your system specs, project specs, hardware compliment, camera etc, so others can try to help you.

i'd take the time to do that, but i think the problem is simpler then that.

try this:

put a video on the timeline.
enter a velocity envelope on it.
edit a few points on the line somewhere.
split the track somewhere in the middle (click, then hit "s").
save this VV file.
close VV, and then once again...
try to open it up.

see if you get an error - then, remove the video from its correct folder (therefore putting the file offline when you try to open your project)...and click "ignore and leave offline"...and it the project will open fine. yet, try to reload in your file - and it crashes on load..once again. lol

Honestly Shack,

No problem doing that here... followed instructions to the letter.

Program opens fine whether I have "open last project on startup" selected or not.

Please take the time to post yer goods and any other apps running... this is a system issue. If it were Vegas, there would be posts all over about it.

If you search the posts on hangs and crashes, they are few and usually easily remedied (with the exception of IRQ conflicts which are a bother, but managable).

Shackrock,

I have tried to duplicate what you are experiencing and I have been unsuccessful. I'm able to open the new, (split with velocity envelope), "veg" file without error.
