Errors w/ compressed AVI's

Here is the scoop:
98SE, FAT32, VV3, HUFFY Codec

I capture an approximately 3 Gig AVI using a HUFFY codec (the huffman compression algorithm). Compression is approximately 2:1 indicating a "real" size of about 6 GIG. When I bring this file into VV3, it indicates an undescribed error and in turn cannot "build peaks" in the audio section of the file. VV3 does not crash but shows a blank audio block where the audio peaks should be. If I play the file in VV3 it sounds fine.

IF however I capture the file with less than 2 GIGs per partition (thus creating a "real size" of less than 4 gigs per file) then VV2 has no problems reading / working with the file within VV3. Any comments?

Regards,

Ron
