You would need a script to do this. Right now there are several scripts out there to put evenly spaced markers on the timeline. I'm not sure of any that will evenly space between two other markers, though.

ok .. I'll bite . .

What is it you finally want to achieve - once you've gt the markers evenly spaced?

Well,
I'm still doing these fitness videos. Looking to perfect the timing of the reps to match the allotted time by creating a metronome of sorts. Generally have a set of 10 reps, then a bit of a pause to switch hands and 10 reps on the other side.

Still awake?

Somewhere at the videohelp 'dawt' com website, there's a free DVD authoring software called "GUI for dvdauthor". In that download is a section called "Chapter/edit GFD. This will allow you to evenly space chapters in mpegs. I don't know if that's the type of markers you were looking for but I do know that this one tool is very easy to use (type in the amount of chapters and if automatically distributes them evenly). I never bothered with the authoring process and cannot tell you anything about that. In fact I've barely used this product, but I did notice that aspect of it.

Seeing as how you only need these as temporary markers you could use the existing scripts (with minor modification) to create markers at every say 1 second intervals and then slide the video on the T/L to get the markers where you want them between the start and end points.
Not real elegant I know.
I've taken the existing scripts and made them into Add Makers at 1, 2, 5 and 10 minute intervals. Even with no programming skills it's pretty easy to see which bit to change to alter the marker interval.
